It sounds to me that he wants the best of both worlds, and is only thinking of himself,you would be better off forgetting him, for your sake and his families.

You only did what any single lonely girl would have done in this situation, fall in love with this great guy who could be the world's greatest liar and cheater. You unwillingly gave him the best of both worlds here so it was only to his advantage to keep lying to you to keep from leaving and he's right about he would never leave his wife since you were his icing on his cake. You now realize that this cannot keep going on like this so cut your losses and move on and don't worry about this as he may not worry about you.
