There are differant types and levels of love like the love of your spouse or the love of a family member the love of a friend or the love of God.

Love is a more intense and deeper than like. You can like anybody with a specific attitude you like or admire, but it takes a lot of time to love somebody. Loving somebody means allowing the person to be part of your everyday thoughts and preferences.
