Hy man hope I could help you with this matter but the thing is that it's all about you and your chic. You have to gain back her trust and vice versa, you can be doing things behind her back and expect her to forgive you. It don't mean it bad to talk to an Ex girlfriend but you have to be careful with what you do cause your Ex may just want to spoil your relationship with your girlfriend that you with now. I don't know if this making sense but what I can say is that the reason was well she don't what you to chart out or see her messages, or mail is just the same way you don't want her to see your sms if you got a text from your Ex, two can play the game bro.....she is your girlfriend and you should be honest and truthful with her as she will be with you, show her you love her so to me she is not cheating on you that is with you, yourself is cheating on her. Remember communication should be in your relationship, that the important thing, don't just think she cheating on you because is chatting with a other guy or receiving mail from him if you also are doing the same thing. Anyway that just what I think about this question.....be honest with each other that what counts.
