The process of finding oneself is called self actualisation or self realisation. As such, it is not an easy thing to do, as we are homogenous human beings and we tend to close ourselves off in order to make other people happy. Self actualisation can be an enlightening process and the results can be life changing. This process will make you learn "why" and you will be able to find ways out.

There are a number of ways in which you can find yourself. Meditation is the best way; you can do it anywhere, anyhow and at any time. When you close your eyes and concentrate towards the emptiness that you see and not think about your worries and problems at that moment, you will be in trance and will realise what is it that makes you sad and what is it that you want. Make little self actualisation trips like a trek alone or a long walk alone. Sometimes, you are sad and you don't even realise it.

For years, I didn't know who I was. I didn't know my identity. I was bound and did awful things to my body trying to either escape the pain or see if it was going to make me know who I was. Subsequently I was introduced to this person who said that He was the way, the truth and the life i.e. the answer to my identity quest. At first, I didnt trust Him and continued to do whatever, whenever. Nothing seemed to work. That's when I decided to choose to go along with and trust what this gentle person was offering me. He offered me His life and I accepted it. When He came into my life it would be the beginning of my new life's journey. My life would never be the same again. He taught me His words and what they said about me--who I was, my true identity. I fell in love with Him because not only did He explain who He was and who I am in Him, I can now share with others the same news. By the way, that person I fell in love with, His name is Jesus. He is my Redeemer, Deliverer, Savior and Lord. I am free to say, I now know who I am and it's found in the life of Jesus. I pray that you find your life, your identity in Him too.
