Males are by nature very focused. That's a nice way of saying 'self-centred'. They don't generally have much ability to empathise with others - it's a natural thing, they need to be like that so they don't get distracted from the main purpose ie to beat the other males, or to avoid being killed by the other males. Sitting around trying to understand someone else's little ways/problems/foibles is not going to help them except briefly: It comes in handy when trying to fool a woman into thinking they have finally found a man who understands them. But you have no doubt already discovered that they can't maintain this facade for very long.
