My advice is to wait. I had my first child at 21 and that was way to young even though I was married for almost 3 years at the time. If I had it to do over again I would have waited until late 20's to have my first child. Your life as you know it is over when you have a child. Everything revolves around the baby at that time. Good luck in whatever you decide!

Babysit some of your friends babies for an extended period of time ... If you can get through it with the "glow" still on your face - your ready! :)

I guess I can try that, I just don't know how easy it would be for me to convince them to give there kid up for a few days! lol!

You are ready when you are not selfish at all, that means that you don't care about your body, if you sleep, the money you spend on the baby, time alone with your husband, time for you, not going out at nights....are you ready to have a nice little baby , to take care of him/her, be with him/her always...always...always....kids are forever...even when they are 40 years old ha ha ha !! Good Luck!!

Make sure you can afford to have a baby. This will mean one of you staying home with the child. I am sure you would hate to send the child off to a babysitter to raise your child. Read all the books you can about the financial well-being of your new child.
