Write down what you are arguing about. Next day look at it calmly and see was it really worth the fuss. You might have got into the habit of disagreeing with each other. Try counselling and try using the phrase "I feel" instead of "you are" which is rather accusing and gets peoples backs up and on the offensive. If you both want to resolve it agree to not argue but write the points down and let them be dealt with calmly. One way of diffusing a row is to blow a kiss. I got on my high horse once with my boss and got really angry with him - he just blew me a kiss and we laughed and sorted it out.
