I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it's 2017! Why are you sitting on the sidelines, disengaged from the world around you? If you are waiting for Prince / Princess Charming to come rescue you from your dull existence, you are in for a long wait!
What are you doing to create an interesting life for yourself? What kinds of hobbies / interests do you have? If you don't have any, why not? Have you joined a book club, gone to the library, played a chess game with someone in the park, gone for drinks with friends, asked you friends to introduce you to their friends, etc., etc.?
Find something you're interested in and pursue that. That will bring you into contact with people that share this hobby. Do you have a Toastmasters group in your town? You might consider joining this. Do you have a Young Professionals group in town? This would be another avenue to explore.
Look up your town's Chamber of Commerce. You would be surprised at the information they have available. But don't sit around and wait to be rescued. Get out and get engaged in life!
