My girlfriend is ill and yesterday decided to change her Facebook picture of both of us to just herself. She explained to me that she felt down so wanted some likes. Am I thinking to much in to this??

Her explanation sounds like a legitimate action for a female. I wouldn't read into it. Mrs. Goofyhawk has changed her profile pictures from her and I to her and a male friend of hers before. All in all, it's just social media.

"Oh, sweetheart, you have nothing to prove. You're beautiful, thoughtful, kind, smart and funny. I love being around you and so do all your friends.  If I could, I would give you 1,000 likes!"

Just as an aside, when someone close to you is feeling down, your first thought should be how you can cheer them up and help them feel better, not to take offense over changing a picture on social media.

Oh my goodness. I'm so glad I was dating before social networks.

You are thinking WAY to much of it. Of all the pictures I have used on Faebook my husband has probably been in the fewest. He knows I love him. You should just like the picture and tell your girlfriend she is beautiful. THAT will make her feel better.
