How Can I Persuade My Parents To Let Me Have A Lip Ring?

There are so many risks with piercings, and I am shocked they let you pierce your belly button. My brother pierced his belly button as a joke since he is a tattoo artist and it got so infected it almost killed him.  Here is a good care sheet to read for a lip piercing www.bmezine.com  Other than infection it could keep you from getting a good job later so keep that in mind. Also some schools have policies on piercings and may not allow you to have the jewelry in at school and retainers are a pain not to mention you shouldn't change the jewelry until it has healed. If you decide you don't like it, it does scar, and some never fully heal and close up so you could be left with a hole for a long time. If they do let you get it pierced make sure you go to a well known professional and put a hoop in it at first studs keep the piercing from breathing properly and make it easier to get infected.

Personally, I don't think that you should get a lip ring. It's serious stuff. Easy to get infected, and just think about how you'll look when you're an old lady! My mom wouldn't even let me get a second ear piercing until I moved out. I'm sorry, and this probably seems harsh, but just wait. =(

Tell them to let you express yourself while you can, when your older it wont be as easy cause you will need a job and stuff, tell them its not as bad as they think to, my parents thought the same thing till i got it, now they like it :D

I just got my lip pierced yesterday. It was my birthday. And i begged for months. My dad was not to happy but my mom dident care. So like if you take care of it right it will not get in fected. Seasalt and shower temp water is what they said to use. I just turned 17 yesterday and yeah just keep workin on them. Im sure they will crack. Thats what happened to me. Al you gotta do is be really mature about it. =]

Im having the same problem :/ i really want one i have many other persings  my mum doesnt mind me getting one but my dad would kick me out -_-'  the fact is u only live once and whats the point if you cant do a few things you want to do also my friends had his lip done 3 times ! No problem they healed over everytime meaning if u dnt want it ney more it will close up :L i suggest you say that if you get it done ull wear a clear lip ring around ur pearnts and put foundation on it so it wont be noticable. Or just beg (what im doing atm) =] x hope i helped
