However, the chances of this working are relatively slim and will probably end up turning into a prolonged and childish fight. If you really want to get the problem resolved then instead of being childish and doing what your neighbor does, you should try and get a chance to talk to them. By just knocking on the door, introducing yourself and then asking them if there’s any chance you could have a chat, you will be well on your way to resolving the problem.
If they accept then perhaps invite them round to your house that evening for a drink or something to eat, anything casual. Once they’re in your company, you should tell them that you really don’t want to do this but you absolutely need to talk to them about some recent events. By remaining polite and explaining precisely why what some things they have done have caused you problems, and by refraining from being ‘on the attack’, you may be able to get your neighbor to listen. If you can do this successfully then you may end up with one more friendship, and a neighbor who is more considerate towards you in the future.
However, if this does not work and relations with your neighbor become even worse, then you only need to get in touch with your local authority. They will be able to help you with any problems and suggest any help.
