How to tell when a guy you don't really know well, likes you? (just met 'officially' a week or so ago, first saw him at a conference i was at but never went up to him. he knows a lot of my family. Can provide more details if needed.)

You don't.

If you don't know him well ... Chances are he doesn't know you well.

And if he doesn't know you well ... He can only be physically attracted to you.

You have to actually put some effort and time into getting to know somebody, before you know if you like them.

If you only met him once, as Walt said, he can't possibly know if he likes you yet. He MAY be interested in getting to know you better, but the only way to find out is to talk to him.
