Wow that seems a bit extreme to me. Parent/parents "beating up" kids is called abuse and it should not be tolerated. You need to talk to someone about this. Maybe a school counselor, teacher, church member or a more rational family member. Trying to make your mom feel guilty about it may lead to more unpleasant actions against you.
