I Skype my boyfriend every day. Due to circumstances, I moved home but I feel it's not enough just Skyping. What should I do? I live in Ireland and he lives in England...

Phone calls help a lot. My lady and I live far apart for now and we send pictures by e-mail, Skype, and talk on the phone. Every little thing helps the distance.

Hi Danielle,

Long distance relationships are not a piece of cake. They require commitment and patience from both sides.

Maintaining communication is fundamental, and if Skype doesn't seem to be enough here you can also find a list of the best app for long distance relationships. During the day you could send him pictures through Whatsapp or Snapchat, you could send him a nice quote, a song, or a vocal message. You could also send him a postcard or a handwritten letter from time to time, and for special occasions

I know these are not among the best ways to be with someone, but when you're in a long distance relationship you should try and do the best with what you have. Sharing parts of your day is important too, so that you can give the other person at least a feel that you're sharing a bit of your lives together. As Rooster said, every little thing helps in this case, even a phone call will do instead of a "stiff" text message.

Plus, Ireland and England are not that far, you can find flights for less than £50 per person (back and forth) if you look at low-cost companies like Ryanair. I think that if you both find ways to save money, you could easily manage to spend a week or a weekend each month. It requires sacrifices but if you're willing enough, it is worth it.

Best of luck!
