Unless you have been emancipated by a court in your jurisdiction most states the legal age is 18. Emancipation is when the court is convinced that even as a "minor" you are capable of taking care of yourself financially and your housing, meals etc. Can be provided for. In most states, unless you have been emanciapted, you cannot even sign a legal document, such as a lease agreement, without a parent or guardians permission and written consent.
