Generally speaking, you have the right to move out, and basically do whatever you like, when you turn 18.

SOME states, such as Missouri, allow a teenager to move out, even against the parents wishes, at the age of 17, if the minor can demonstrate to the court that they have the ability to financially support themselves.

Well, in Australia, you can move out at the age of 16. 16 is the age of consent here, believe it or not. LOL! You are classified as an adult at the age of 18.

My guess you are from the US though, so I know that it does differ from state to state (to some extent).

I'm sixteen and my parents are going through a nasty divorce and I want to move in with my sister. I live in florida so I don't know what the legal age is to move out, but I don't want to be around my parents til this is done. My brothers ex gf did and a cop told her mom theres nothing she can do about it, I want to know and need to know now.

It depends upon the country law most of the modern countries if you are 16 you can leave your home but 18 is the limit to leave house in law.

In the U.S., at age 18 you are officially free of your parents and become entirely responsible for the consequences of your own debt and actions. Until that time, it can be prosecutable to run away without a defense.
