There are many terms of endearment you can use towards a male friend. Often though, it's not the words you say, but how you say them that really counts!
Terms of endearment to a male friend
I used to call one of my best male friends 'grilled cheese' because it was our favorite snack to share.
Whilst this might sound bizarre, I think it goes to show that it doesn't really matter what you call your friend - as long as the friendship and respect is there.
Some girls call their male friends 'dude' or 'man' - just as a male friend would - and this is perfectly fine too!
The main thing to watch out for is becoming over-affectionate. If you don't see your male friend in 'that' way, then you need to be careful not to give him over-endearing pet names, otherwise he might get the wrong idea!
Calling him things like 'baby' or 'sexy' might be dangerous in this context - although, again, it depends on the way you usually speak to each other, and the tone of voice you use.
