Kissing with braces is unlikely to do any harm to you or your partner as long as you’re both taking things at a pace you’re both comfortable with. No doubt you will both be aware of the metal participating in your lip lock, but that’s not a bad thing. It will serve as a reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment if and when passions begin to reach boiling point. Bear in mind, people with tongue and lip rings also have metal in their mouths and these are locked into sensitive places! If they can do it, you can too. Just think of your braces as your mouth jewellery and remember SLOW and GENTLE. Kiss gently at first, until you’re both relaxed and comfortable with what each other likes. When you’re ready to progress, resist the urge to kiss with too much pressure. This will smash your lips into your braces and while you may not cut yourself, the experience will stop being so pleasant. Don’t be afraid to tell your partner if something hurts or is uncomfortable. Your partner WANTS to please you as much as you want to please them. In the same vein, avoid quick movements as this could result in collisions akin to a headbutt in the mouth. As your partner gets more comfortable, don’t be afraid to allow or even encourage your partner to run their tongue gently over your braces as proof they are not razor sharp. As long as the motion is slow and gentle, they will not hurt themselves. And it makes for a nice segue to French kissing. With French kissing the same rules apply. Be sure to take it slow and be gentle. Slipping tongues in each other’s mouths will inevitably mean an increase in pressure. Be sure to let your partner know if and when the pressure becomes too much. You won’t need an entire tongue in your mouth and neither will they. No one likes that sort of French kiss, braces or not. Think of it more as a tease or game of chase. Tonsil hockey it is not!

I got my braces of last week. I had them for a year and made out with several people and it's really just the same as without them. I was worried at first but it was fine. Just relax about it, but seriously, its not a problem.

The first time you make out after getting braces can be a little awkward but it's fine. I have braces and me and my boyfriend have a completely normal relationship. Making out is not a problem. But if you're worried about it, its better to talk to your boyfriend/girlfriend and tell them how you feel. They should be understanding in a situation like that. (:

Me and my bf make out a lot(:
And we've really never had a problem with it, just be careful of the silver rings on the back of your teeth, because they're sharp. But honestly if he loves you, your make out technique should really mean nothing! Tell him the truth that your worried you will cut him! :P
also try to write your name in cursive with your tongue that way your more focused on that than your braces..
Don't over think it honey, just let it happen.
It will be amazing (:
Good luck! (:

Just do what you would normally do...don't worry
but a good way to start is be a little careful and then try to right your name is cursive
while making out
once you get the hang of it play around with your style

I am so curious about this. I have braces and I was wondering if I can make out. If he doesn't have braces, won't mine cut his mouth? If he does have braces then won't they get hooked on to each other?

Well you definitely face a problem while making out with the braces. You can be the simple and do not smooch your girl friend tongue so that you can easily make out with braces and none of you get cut on the lips.

I made out with this guy and we both had braces. I suggest you don't get too rough, I ended up with cuts on the inside of my bottom lip. But don't worry about cutting your partner

You just have to be careful make sure you don't get the other persons lip caught and you can't make out if thr other person has braces unless your very very careful or youll get you braces caught on each other

Oh my god I have this exact same problem. It's simple if your partner doesn't have braces then, well, problem solved. If he/she does then try to avoid mouth kissing and try out some new techniques it's a perfect time.

I'm a girl...and I've made out.....and I have braces!! It's actually pretty simple!! Just don't worry about it!! You can still make out as long as you don't get too hard or rough with your kissing!! My boyfriends teeth have hit my braces once or twice.....but it was no big deal, we just kept going and actually we can get pretty rough with our kisses too and the braces really don't make much of a difference!! But I'm just thankful that my braces are coming off in 3 weeks because Ive never made out without braces before to tell you the truth!!

Well... If you have braces and you are afraid to make out with them on then don't worry! It is not a big problem. All you have to do is just do all what you did before you had braces. It's okay! (: Trust me! I have braces and I make out all the time(:
