How To Deal With Selfish People?

I would rather not deal with selfish people, they make me mad. I can't stand when a person can't think about another person being equally important in life. I am always giving, and my hubby hates it to the point that we will argue about it. It isn't that he is greedy or selfish, but he would rather I donate money in a different way. I have told them on many occasions to learn how to be a better person by giving instead of taking. Maybe that isn't the best way to deal with it, but that is what I have done.
