Usually the relationship isn't too serious. I know I'm ten now, (everybody thinks it's hard to believe because of my supposedly 'good' typing, I'm just a computer geek.) and I have plenty of friends with boyfriends. The girls who start 'dating' are from 9-14 in my school. When they're ten or nine, they're in fourth grade, so obviously it's kind of young but here's the thing. In fourth grade, when we usually start dating, it's not serious up until sixth grade. In Sixth grade it's more serious where you go on one on one dates. Let me tell you how this sort of relationship works- usually it's just texting things like 'goodnight luv yuh' or 'how was skool'. And sometimes they do date, but in 70% of young dating they're usually doubledates, where a group of friends go to the movies/mall together and usually four people in the group are in a relationship. It's also things like passing notes, I know this. I know that the passing notes thing isn't really a big deal, either. You can get in trouble for it but it's usually just gossip between the boy and girl. Ask the child what type of class it is, where drama and gossip spreads. If she says it is that kind of class, it's most likely that the notes are gossip. If she says 'no', it means that the notes are just things like 'you look cute' or 'do you like me?' and sometimes if It's not about the relationship it's things like 'this class is sooo lame' and such. I know that passing notes isn't good, but thankfully only half of the young relationships pass notes. Not many of them do.
It's up to her to make her choice anyway I'm 10 and I have a boyfriend.We do nothing serious all we do is give gifts to each other on birthdays, valentine's day, easter and so on.We haven't kissed yet because theres so many children on our street.
Honestly, everyone has their own opinion, but for a ten year old to have a boyfriend, nothing would be serious between them in anyway, so I would be fine with it. It's probably only a little crush so there's nothing to be worried about.

I'm 13, and yes, I think it's okay for kids to experiment a little with boyfriends and girlfriends and such... But I think if you're like at that age you shouldn't go on real dates, that would be weird.I had a "boyfriend" when I was six and seven (we just called each other boyfriend and girlfriend and we hung out at each other's houses). But I don't think you should take relationships at that age too far. Making out at 11 sounds kind of gross to me.

SURE! I'm ten and I have a boy friend and so do like 6 of my best friends we don't do anything we just talk to them so sure its fine no one can stop you. No I don't think a ten year old girl should be in an relationship, it is such a minor age to get into all these things as it is just childhood love, there is no seriousness in this love and anything wrong may happen, so I don't agree to having a boyfriend at such an early age.

Ten year olds should not even know what sex is, let alone be having it. You are still children. Aside from the fact that it is illegal, it is wrong. You are not mentally developed or mature enough to understand what you are doing or what the consequences will be.
