Don't drop hints - just tell him straight out that you are not interested. It's not hard - you don't need to be rude - you just simply say that you've noticed him doing _______ and it seems to indicate to you that he's interested in perhaps dating you. You tell him that you feel he's a great guy but right now you just want to be friends.
