Listen to the BBC World Service. Get an English-speaking penfriend (or if you REALLY have to, an American-speaking one).

Mainly, remember that the British, Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans are all REALLY bad at speaking other languages. If you speak Japanese and even a little bit of English, you will be better than most of us.

You seem to type alright! Just talk to people if they talk to you, or go talk to them first. Be friendly and if you guys introduce yourselves to each other, mention that you're still learning English. Most people will understand and even try to help you learn. Just speak with a smile

Also, join an extracurricular activity, like an after school club, so you can become recognizable. You will meet more people that way, so you are not just limited to making friends with the people in your classes.
