She was reading the Hebrew Scriptures 📖 at his birth 👶.

I once knew a woman name.     Apotthaleewholla.

(not sure of the spelling)  We called her Pot.

Me too.
I once knew two girls one name Princess (Not related) and the other Precious. Teacher refuse to call them by their first names and was fired. We kids have no problem. Neither did the next teacher.

His parents must have been Bible thumpers. I have a little girl in my neighborhood whose name is Beautiful. I don't know what those parents were thinking. I find it rather embarrassing to call her by her name.

Ancient: Probably true about the spelling. Know one poor girl named Shy-anne because the mother had no idea how to spell the name.

Oh my goodness Dave, poor girl.
My sister in law is the head nurse in a hospital newborn nursery and she said that some of the names are funny, some shameful and some are just way off the spelling charts.

Parents don't remember that their kids have to go through life with those names.  I knew a man named "W.B. Darling".  The W B stood for Welcome Baby!!  Poor guy!

Oh my, GOD ! - handoverface meh. Im not saying it should not be used period but lets keep it realistic, at least give the kid a choice whether he wants to live with that name and if not change it. Do you really think living with that in reality land yourself would be dandy? Give it a try then.

It does not warrant negative reaction but it certainly can be unpleasant to actual person living with that name. Hope he isnt having too hard of a time there Rooster. If so he should decide for himself what he wishes.

Hopefully I am understanding the right context here. To answer your question, I have no idea! But id imagine her in this fashion 😇 and him in 😖. OK Im exaggerating on that last bit but... Buzz buzz.

Dear Rooster,

I did some checking..."Nephilim" is only used in the Bible twice. Different interpretations, but the Nephilim might have been the offspring of Sons of God (angels?) taking beautiful women as wives. So Mom might have thought she was naming him something wonderful, and looks like PHIL would be a natural nickname...

There is also an unusual name in my family; my aunt married a man named Ora L. Hovies. Well Uncle Orrie was born in the 1800's, just as his mother arrived here on the Pacific Coast in a covered wagon.

During her pregnancy crossing the continent she had been craving citrus, so much that she named her new little boy Orange Lemon!

He's been my hangar monkey for 15 years and I always called him Scott. He had to fill out a form for the appraiser on my planes with his full name. Guess his middle name is Scott.
