How should a 23 year old, autistic man like myself go about finding a date in the event that his immediate family doesn't offer support for his efforts? Do I even need support? Or should I attempt this journey alone?

I know this question is over a year old, but I hope you see this answer. There is a dating website for people with autism that is run by people who have autism. It is called SpectrumSingles.com. I am sorry your family doesn't support you in this, but that might because they want to protect you. They may not want you to experience any rejection. For what is worth, rejection is part of everyone's life. Different people are rejected for different reasons, but when you find the right one all the rejection is worth it.
