Hard to tell. I think the divorce court pendulum has swung too far against men and because of that, they may be opting out. Also, with so many marriages ending in divorce, I think more people are questioning reality of marriage. Since marriage is a legal contract, I think many people are also questioning the proposal. I really don't think it has to do with religious or family issues but more with the mechanics of marriage itself.
