Is It Okay To Request "No Gifts Please" On A Surprise 50th Wedding Anniversary Party Invitation? If So, How Should This Request Be Worded And Presented On The Invite?

If an invitation to a 50th anniversary says no gift Should we give a monetary gift. I need an answer as the family has different view point
