My boyfriend is leaving for college in about 14 days. He'll be 5 hours away in another state, and is my main support system when it comes to my mental health. Any advice on how to cope with the separation anxiety?

well, to take your mind off that, i'd like to advise you to fully and nicely spend you last 14 days with him and after him gone, indulge yourself in various activities, make yourself busy, set goals, set priorities, set a routine.

You see, you might be anxious about something, something you might be insecure about and thats why you find him comforting , it can be anything , your weight , your studies, social life , so do work to get over it, spend time doing activities like work out, learning , studying , reading....try to fight it back.

and if you have friends spend time with them , and read a lot of books, reading helps a lot, it might be boring if you arent much of a reader but once you get started , its not hard to lose yourself in the book...so be busy!

You should write him everyday. And I don't mean text, email etc. I mean actual snail mail! Buy stamps, envelopes and a lot of paper. It gives you something tangible to hold and look forward to each day. At least until your more use to the new change. Good luck.
