Is it weird if someone says "goodnight love" to their cousin? my girlfriend said this this to her cousin and a few days before that he told her " I love you more". she insists that's just the way they talk to each other

Perhaps you are over-thinking this. I call people "love" all the time. Well, at least the folks that I am close to.

Nothing wrong with that at all .. They are showing affection, and love .. Family (and even friends)  often do that.  It's not the same as a romantic love, if THAT is what you're thinking.

I say "I love you" you my grandkids and my own kids,  my dear ol'Dad .. And even some very close friends .. Because I do genuinely 'love' them .. Not romatically ..but it IS still 'love'.
