First of all, take it as a compliment! Being a nerd is not a bad thing, just think of it as being smart. Second of all, they are not your friends if they make fun of you! I have had experiences with my 'friends' calling me names and I made a choice to leave them or deal with their name calling. You shouldn't hang around with people who bring you down. Nerds run the world. So if those people don't want to talk t you, remember that when they are looking to you for a job. You will only want to hire compassionate people, and that will not be them.
Embrace the name, the majority of people called nerds will end up employing the rest of us . . .
I am sure both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were considered "Nerds" . . . I am envious of you.
