I don't get insulted easily. With age comes wisdom. With that wisdom I have learned that when someone is trying to insult me, they are actually trying to make themselves feel better. It has little or nothing to do with me personally.

With that said, I find that fact that there are so many stupid reality shows insulting to the intellligence of the viewing public.

I try not to give people that kind of power over me.

Reacting too quickly, I might consider a lie spoken about me and regarded as "true" by the other party, but upon reflection, I weigh the importance of these individual's opinion of me. That usually always falls short of the mark and is thus disregarded and ignored.

I try and place myself on equal ground with most people but find  my importance is elevated when it comes to others pushing negative feelings, or sayings towards me. I am not posturing myself above them . . . By their negative actions, they have lowered themselves.

The appropriate reaction to some opinions are both insult and scorn.

The Nazi's "Final Solution" as an answer to Hitler's "Jewish" problem comes to mind.

I guess Hitler would have thought that his critics were lowering themselves if he even listened to them, but then Hitler would have not admitted that there was any higher standard to which he could have been held accountable.

As I've commented before---"We humans are really good at fooling ourselves."

I never feel insulted, well, actually I probably do, but, after many years on this green Earth I don't really care.

At the weekend I had to close some of the village roads as we had a street party to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.

Some guy with a van got really miffed when I wouldn't let him try to drive through a street full of children.

He shouted an insult at me as he drove off and then, through dint of some very poor driving, managed to get stuck on an adjacent country lane. One of us would have helped to "see him through" the obstructions, but instead we all laughed at his discomfiture.

What goes around..........
