28 days after I gave birth to my son, my father died. My husband was unable to leave and make the trip to Texas for the funeral. So, there I was, a new mom, my father just died and the whole thing could have been just awful.

My uncle decided that he would take the baby from me if he fussed during the ceremony so I could stay for the duration. He was close to my dad as well, but decided that he would do this for me so I wouldn't have to leave. It turned out well for both of us as my son slept through the ceremony.

That's easy. A man helped me up off the road after I'd been knocked down by a van, loaded my bike in the back, and drove 20 miles out of his way to take me home.

Of course, since he was the driver who had knocked me down (while making an illegal u-turn), and since I gave him the option of taking me home or calling the cops, I guess it wasn't altogether voluntary. Still, it did beat hell out of walking home with my broken bike slung over my shoulder.

I ended up in a ditch at the side of the road, which was a lot better than under the wheels of the van. I wasn't very polite to the guy.

Trusted me, and believed in me, when I didn't believe in myself. He changed my whole world for the better.
