If ignorance is bliss than why are most ignorant people unhappy?

Not true, I worked with a guy who was the dumbest person I ever had the misfortune to meet.
But he was incredibly happy, happy to the point where he would hit on ladies, get shot down in the most horrible and blunt of ways, and walk away smiling and thinking it went well.
