You should call your father but first make sure he is your father and not some stranger.... Otherwise he will most definitely not know who you are and you do not want to give him personal information about yourself over the phone.

I think you should call him first to make the initial contact and explain the situation to him and then ask how he feels if you could meet up and then take it from there.Good luck with your venture though.
