That is an impossible question to answer because how can you can compare things that you like with each other with no frame of reference? Also, where does like end and where does love begin?

  • A frame of reference
I like tomato soup, I also like films and I also like the music of The Beatles. Which do I like most? It's impossible to say because there is nothing that makes any of these things comparable. A frame of reference gives you this method of comparing. If you say which is your favorite food - soup, films or The Beatles? The answer is easy - soup.

  • Subjectivity
And who cares what I like most? What you like is totally subjective and so it has no real bearing on what anyone else like. There is something called mob mentality where groups of people tend to behave the same way but it doesn't apply to something as abstract as just asking what someone likes. Perhaps the answer then to the original question 'what do you like most?' should be something like this: It doesn't matter what I like - what you like is more important.

  • Love or like?
If you're a parent, the thing you are likely to like most is your son/daughter. But like isn't a good enough word to describe feelings of a parent and offspring. You love your children, you don't just like them. If you asked a parent what do you like most then I would hope they wouldn't even consider their children because 'like' pales in to insignificance.
