How would I get over the acquired fear of trying a new trampoline trick if I almost died doing just that?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. How might this apply in your case?

And it it is enjoyable once again to speak with you.

Well, I'm actually very skilled on the trampoline, but I got a double bounce which rocketed me off of the trampoline onto the metal pole surrounding it, breaking some vertebrae (i think it's called) in my neck. I just got a double bounce that I wasn't expecting. I appreciate all the answers but It's really the only thing I'm good at and the only thing I enjoy doing. Thanks everyone though.

Find a new hobby. Fear can make people MORE accident prone.

Perhaps almost killing yourself is nature's way of warning you.

At the very least, you could probably use some reliable coaching rather than trying to do this on your own.

In that case, I have no suggestions. You have developed a real fear and that is appropriate.

You might want to consult with a professional counselor since I would assume this activity is pretty important to you.
