A sweaty hand will set me off.
This kind:
The limp wet one! Ugh
The reaslly limp ones - like grabbing a day old dead fish
One of my co-workers, back in the day when my son was in elementary school, taught my son how to shake hands. It is totally different when a man teaches a young man, versus his mother trying to teach this.
Doug taught him to look the person right in the eye, extend his hand for a hearty handshake, saying, "It's good to meet you, Mr. Smith." Doug drilled him over and over again on this and since I was with that company for over 14 years, that's a lot of drilling.
Every time my son meets someone new, he is reminded of the time that Doug taught him the right way, versus the limp noodle handshake. He has been in the position now to teach others - especially his peers - as Doug would want him to pay it forward. What an invaluable skill to teach a child.
I like a warm, firm, no-nonsense handshake. If someone wants to offer me fingertips or a limp hand, I'd rather they do nothing at all.
