Not very good I guess if you are also a loner.

I'm an only child.  I often wonder what it's like to have siblings.

It's all I know.  I have a great life with family and friends.

I am an "only child". After all these years I can say it has had some very major pluses and a few devastating minuses. Fortunately for me, in their own stumbling way, my parents prepared me and I somehow have survived the "ordeal" and am a normal person. In  all honesty I do not consider the fact I have no siblings an ordeal. Yes I did become a "loner" but that was a great asset in my chosen career field. I have found most "only children" wind up haveing large families, how ironic.

In retrospect, the major perk was having my own room and being able to leave something in there with the fully realistic (and realized) expectation of having it still be where I put it when I returned.

Apparently, that is rare when you are one among others.

To my chagrin, wives are apparently like siblings in that sole respect.
