This is totally rhetorical. If a guy stops talking to you for 6 weeks did he leave your relationship? A girl told me that her boyfriend told her he was going to kill himself, and stopped talking to her, and she said "he didn't actually break up with me"

Well, I'm guessing because he didn't actually say the words - hey, I'm breaking up with you - she probably thinks the breakup never happened. There are some people you have to hit over the head with a frying pan (metaphorically speaking) before they believe something.
