I'm turning 17 in a month my parents want to start charging me rent because I got my GED and I'm working my butt off to get a job and I am making money...but what will happen if I don't pay them and I just leave home?

It's a part of being an adult. You have a GED, now go get a job. You can either leave home and be homeless, or face the inevitability.

Im sorry that happened to you, it must have been tough, but 17 is still very young. Yes, 17 year olds should have some responsibilities, but its too young to survive by themselves.

I'm not sorry that happened to me. There are many tribulations in life, and you can either learn from them or let them overcome you. 17 is no doubt a young age, and it's tough to face the world at that age. But it's better to learn when you're younger, things will only get tougher.
