Okay, I like a guy I met online who lives in another state, and I don't know if I should ask him out or if I should be worried about talking to him. What should I do?

Hi Emily boys always prefer girls directly rather than chat. You call him, ask him to meet you. All the best to you.

I can't meet him! We're teenagers, neither of us driving yet, multiple states away! I can't meet him!

Okay!! So then,  wait till you grow! Listen I cantt tell any other idea because  you guys are teenagers just like me, who dont know how to drive or get away from home! If I was in your place I'd just chat with him on cam and al, l and when I'd be a grown up then I'd go and meet him! What exactly do you want to do!  Do you love him madly?

You know that meeting strangers on the internet is not always safe, don't you?

Yes that's also correct! I had almost forgotten about it! So Emily I just wanted to tell you that the guy you love, maybe he's lying to you because you haven't met him and don't know about his lifestyle so maybe he has many more girlfriends you don't know about in the real life (Or maybe many like you on the net)! Think about it!

Yes, I am well aware. I know there are creepers out there, and I know how to protect myself against them.

I don't think you necessarily need to be concerned that you met this guy online - plenty of people meet online these days, it's becoming a perfectly acceptably forum to make connections with people these days, which is great!

So I would say, if you like this guy- go for it!
There are plenty of things you can do to put your mind at ease about things first, and the one thing I definitely recommend is to video chat.

Using Skype or Facetime to chat allows almost the same intimacy as face-to-face. Sure, you're not actually in the same room, but it feels as though you are, and the way you interact is a lot more natural and conversational than chatting over the internet.

It can be a little awkward to begin with, but at least you can be reassured that you know exactly who you are speaking to, and all the small things like mannerisms, tone of voice, and body language can become more apparent through this type of communication.

Although you know better than anybody what this guy is like, there's truly no harm in being safe and putting your mind at ease. Then you can just look forward to spending some time with your new love interest once the video chat goes smoothly!
