How to move on after a breakup? Is it necessary to cut off all contact on social media, mobile, etc?

Yes it is ! I had a break up a couple of months ago and had to block Skype, e-mail and everything. Best thing I ever did! Time to move on and be free of all contact. Much easier on you that way!

Absolutely. Cut all ties and don't go to where you're likely to run into the person. I got dumped unexpectedly by a woman living in a different town so it's off my radar as of now.

Always best to end all ties, immediately.

Cut all ties and have no contact and make it stick.  Otherwise, you can't go on with your life and find someone new.  Avoid people, places, and things that might be reminders or where you could run into the person.

You could, but why? Don't let your other partner feel that you're sad, keep everything open - you got other people you need too.
