Children must be protected, calling the service is usually done with honest concern. The abuse comes in when child protection over steps thier authority and puts good parents through hell just because they can. These so called protection agencies have to much lead way in thier field decisions. I hear stories all the time about child protection failures and or just plain screw ups. These people spend so much time torturing people who are doing right, because abusive parents can be dangerous and they don't care whether or not you take thier child, lets face it you can't lord your authority over people who don't care

Thank you for your opinion. I have known a few couples who were as you said "put through hell" I personally think parents should be allowed to be parents. Children should be protected, but if there is nothing wrong, please don't start problems for no reason.

Yes. I believe some people abuse Child protective services for there own use. Because they don't like the parents, or because they want they're child. But if the child is actually being abused then no.

I absolutely think people abuse CPS and in turn I think CPS abuse good people. I think they get a high on all the power they have toward families trying to raise their kids. Families who have never had to have a lawyer because they have never been in trouble besides for a speeding ticket...then all the sudden CPS is called and these good parents are all but destroyed. CPS tell lies and twist words. No parent is perfect, and the honest ones will tell you they are not perfect. Then CPS gets a hold of this bit of information and take your kids. The best thing I think to do with CPS is to lie if you want to keep your kids. But, then you have to live with the fact you had to lie. So, words of advise, if you have a teen age child... And you cuff them in the back of the head for back talking... Never admit it. It doesn't matter if it happen ONE time. If you admit it...they can take your kid. And, then you get a judge who can't see color... Only black and white. Law says a hit, slap or blow to the head is abuse. It won't matter there was never any INJURY. They don't have to prove anything, because you said.." Yes, I gave her/him a cuff on the back of the head." BAM... Guilty of abuse. I know....I found out the hard way... And I am taking day by day... By the way...This happened to me 4 months before my daughter turned 18. I have been dealing with this for 2 months now... So two more months to go before she is 18....day by day......

It is the duty of anyone who believes a child is being abused to report the matter. It is then up to the authorities to check out whether the child is safe and well cared for. How could anyone live with themselves suspecting a child was being abused to later read about it in the paper if they had sat back and done nothing. A child is defenceless - that is why adults need to help them.
