There are few glands in vagina which secrete their secretion on specific time. Some secrete during delivery and some during sex. Mucus is also secreted by mucous membrane of cervix. The purpose of this mucus is the to keep the pH of vagina slightly acidic to protect from infection and also to facilitate the intercourse by providing lubrications. The defect of mucous gland cause less or absence of muous. The lack of interest in sex also does not stimulate these glands to secrete mucous.
