I think they should stay in a family because it would be terrible if I got put in a nursing home and got taken away from my family it would be horrible
My sister inlaw cared for her mother as she had altimers she looked after her for 10 years . Had she been put in a home my mother I(nlaw would not have lasted as long.
unfortunately we have since found out my sister inlaw used her mothers credit cards drained her mums bank dry did not even have enough money to bury her mother. She left 7 cents in her bank
every one trusted her always told her what a beautiful job she was doing. Sure she
was entitled to something for caring for her mother but everything.
the day her mother died she told people how she had lost her income. So I am in favour of a nursing home.

I am not in favor of nursing homes. There are so many horror stories that happen. The nursing homes can look very nice, but once you leave you don't know who is abusing your elderly parent or grandparent. Your mother and father tried to take care of you and so it should be your privilege and responsiblity to take care of them because in the end when they die they want to be held by loved ones in their own homes and told "you were a good mother/daddy...rest in peace,..I love you".
That's what I did with my parents. The last one to die was my father of cancer and I watched him take three breathes and die but not before we told him we are sorry for his pain, you've been a good father, go in peace". We love you and we just kissed him and wouldn't let go. Please don't put your elderly in a nursing home.
