This could be that he is not having enough sleep.
He might be sneaking off at night time to play the computer or watch tv or play on his gaming consoles.
It depends on what you mean by tired. The tired of sleepiness, or tired of hurt.
He might have slept in a funny position.

Try talking to your dr about it it may be the reading under the covers with a flashlight. But it might be also something serious medical your dr can help he could have sleep anemia
