I actually sent flowers to Bangalore - my systems manager there was celebrating her "engagement" (or whatever it is called in the Hindu culture). They never arrived. I spent £75 (then about $110) for nothing.
So, from personal (and quite pricy) experience - do not send flowers to Bangalore.
