My wife and I sent the kids to their grandparents for the weekend and went to the closest Holiday Inn with just the clothes on our backs. We registered as John Smith and guest. Two days and one night without the kids, without worry and no guilt was pure romantic bliss.

I've told this story before but it still gives me a flutter so I'll tell it again. It's good to know that, even at my age, I still think I'm a chick magnet.

About two years ago in our local shopping area an older woman walked toward me. That's not unusual but this one caught my eye and held it the whole time she approached. She was nicely curved, stylishly dressed, immaculately coiffed, and had the assurance of a woman who has entranced many men in her lifetime.

As she drew near she lifted her face to mine, put her lips near my ear, and murmured, "Your fly is undone."

Fair broke me up it did.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! I remember that!!
Here's one.

I was driving down a one way with supposedly "timed" traffic lights. In the lane beside me was a car with two young men. At each stop they gazed and posed. At each stop my smile grew wider.
After stopping together the third time, I rolled down my window.
"Your blinker is on."

All I'll say about that is that it sometimes takes an older woman to show you what real love feels like.

When I was in high school there was this very elderly couple who lived a few doors down. Every morning they would go on a walk and they always held hands. I just thought that was such a romantic thing that at their age they still walk so affectionately. After a year of this I finally commented on their hand holding, about how adorable they were. He said to me, "Romantic? We hold each other's hands to keep each other on the sidewalk!" I still thought it was romantic.

My friends parents, before he died, were married for 60 years. A romantic experience was watching the way he would still look at her after 60 years. She was the luckiest woman on this planet to have her man still look at her that way after all those years.

Every now and again, when I am far from looking my best, my husband will just look at me and tell me I am beautiful.

He did it just the other morning. I didn't sleep well, plus Skully got me up to let him out around 5:20 am. Just in time for the sprinklers to go off. Skully LOVES to play in the sprinklers. I had to coax him back in and dry him off. It took me over and hour after that to fall back asleep. So when 7 am rolled around and it was time to get up I was grumpy and looking a little rough. My husband just looked at me and told me I looked beautiful. Puffy eyes and all.
