The disadvantages are seeing these children in horrifying conditions at home.

I work at a day care and the only disadvantages
1) are the days when the kids aren't behaving, which if you're a good teacher you will learn to control
2) the drama that goes on between the teachers
3) when you know the kids are going home to a family that doesn't appreciate them
