Red tulips mean undying love. White roses do infact symbolize pure love. However a rose bud means a heart devoid of all true love.  The meanings of these flowers goes back a long way, however it's more what the person who is giving the flower means by doing so.  As long as you give a flower out of love, than it symbolizes love.

Don't you think that the author of evermore kind of cheated off Twilight though.

@Xxs_girlx-- you googled the wrong flower. Its not white rose, it's white roseBUD. Google white rosebud and some sites will say: "Heart ignorant of love", exactly (I thik exactly bkuz I have the books) what it says in 'Evermore' by Alyson Noel.

You can't just base it on a book. What if they made it up? And i read evermore also, and it says that a white rose means unpure love or something bad, but when i searched white rose meaning on google all the 8 sites i checked, they said that a white rose meant purity, innocence, love at first site and all those other meanings. I'm not saying its not true, just that you can't base it on a book.

In response to xxs_girlx, the book was not entirely wrong about the white rose. If you look for the true victorian meaning a white rose bloom means purity but a white rose bud means a heart ignorant of love which I believe is what it says in the book evermore.

I think any book that comes out is going to be or seem similar to Twilight! Everyone is going to think any author is copying but the truth is almost every book is similar in some way so I do not believe the author or Evermore is copying  the Twilight Saga!
