You cannot force someone to forgive you. All you can do is be sincere in your apology and hope and or pray for some understanding. However if this has been a recurring problem, I wouldn't wait around.

A sincere apology is nice but it can be not enough. An apology with a commitment not to repeat the error is more acceptable.
